Today we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, we pause to reflect on the true meaning of the day and give thanks to those who gave everything for our freedom. 🇺🇸

From all of us at the Lynd Fire Department, we remember and honor our fallen heroes.

Our crews recently participated in solar panel emergency response training to stay prepared for incidents involving residential and commercial solar energy systems. As solar technology becomes more common in our community, it’s important for firefighters to understand the unique hazards these systems can present during fires, storms, and rescue situations.
This hands-on training focused on identifying solar equipment, safely shutting down systems, recognizing electrical hazards, and adapting firefighting operations around energized panels. Continuous training like this helps ensure the safety of both our responders and the community we serve. 🚒☀️

This week, we proudly recognize and celebrate National EMS Week — honoring the dedicated First Responders, EMTs and Paramedics who answer the call day and night to serve our community. 🚑❤️

Whether responding to emergencies, providing lifesaving care, offering comfort during difficult moments, or standing side-by-side with our firefighters, our EMS providers are always ready when seconds matter most.

Thank you for your commitment, compassion, professionalism, and sacrifice. Your dedication does not go unnoticed.

Please join us in thanking all EMS personnel this week for everything they do to keep our community safe.

We get this question sometimes—why don’t responders run?

This post explains it perfectly. “Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.” Our team is trained to stay calm, think clearly, and act with precision when every second counts.

Last night our fire department worked on several skills during a mock fire call. We worked on our response time getting out of the fire hall, setting up at the scene, including the drop tank and getting water on the fire as quickly and safely as possible. These mock scenes help us keep our skills up in driving the trucks, pump controls, filling trucks, and being able to build teamwork in a situation.
