The William D. McDowell Observatory is open Wednesdays, year-round, weather permitting. November hours are 7:30 pm to 10 pm. Viewing sessions are recommended for ages 10 and up. Please call the Observatory Hotline for operating status prior to making your trip. The Hotline number is 201-460-4001. It will be updated by 3:30 pm each Wednesday.

Due to the COVID-19 oubreak, the William D. McDowell Observatory is closed until further notice.

The William D. McDowell Observatory, operated by Bergen Community College, will be closed on Wednesday, March 11, and Wednesday March 18. The Observatory is currently scheduled to reopen on Wednesday, March 25, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Please check back for updates. For more information, please call 201-460-4619.

PLEASE NOTE: DeKorte Park remains open. All previously booked school programs remain on schedule.
