From chatting around the lunch tables to catching up with students on the playground, it was a great opportunity to connect, share some smiles, and see our Rowland students enjoying their school day. 💛🖤

First Friday of the School Year at Memorial Jr. High!

There’s nothing like the excitement of the first Friday back! Students spent the day learning, collaborating, connecting with friends, and settling into their new routines.

From hands-on learning in STEM class to catching up with friends during lunch, it was great to see our students engaged, smiling, and enjoying being back together.

We’re off to a great start and looking forward to all the learning, friendships, and memorable moments this school year will bring!

Recess Just Got Even Better at Sunview!

Today, members of Lyndhurst Police Department joined our Sunview Elementary students for recess—and they didn’t just watch from the sidelines! They jumped right in to race, play games, laugh, and have some fun with our students!

It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect with local officers in a positive and engaging way while building relationships that strengthen our school community.

A big THANK YOU to the Lyndhurst Police Department for spending time with our students and making today’s recess one to remember!

Something Creative is Taking Shape at Brush High School!

A space at Charles F. Brush High School is being transformed into a new art room where students will have the opportunity to create, explore, and bring their ideas to life! We’re excited to watch this space come together and can’t wait to share the finished product. Stay tuned!

A New Look at Our Administration Building!

Visitors to the South Euclid-Lyndhurst Schools Administration Building will notice a brand-new sign! The new signage provides a fresh, welcoming entrance and reflects the pride we have in our schools and community.

WELCOME BACK, SEL!

What a great way to kick off the 2026–2027 school year! Today, our schools were filled once again with smiling faces, excited students, and the energy that makes SEL such a special community.

Superintendent Dr. Dominick Kaple spent the first day visiting each of our schools, greeting students and staff, and helping welcome everyone back for another exciting year of learning, growth, and opportunity.

From our youngest learners to our Brush High School students, it was wonderful to see our hallways and classrooms come back to life!

Celebrating Student Excellence & Looking Ahead at SEL!

Last night’s South Euclid-Lyndhurst Board of Education meeting was filled with plenty to celebrate!

We were incredibly proud to recognize 18 SEL students who earned a PERFECT SCORE on their Ohio State Tests! This outstanding achievement reflects their hard work, preparation, perseverance, and commitment to excellence. Congratulations to our students, and thank you to the families, teachers, and staff who support them every step of the way!

We also celebrated Brush High School student Cyan Evans, who designed the official Brush High School 100th Anniversary logo! Cyan’s design honors the history and tradition of Brush and will be featured throughout this milestone year. Congratulations, Cyan, on having your work become part of Brush High School history!

During his Superintendent’s Report, Dr. Dominick A. Kaple presented the district’s new 2027–2029 Strategic Plan, outlining the vision and goals that will guide SEL Schools over the next three years. The plan focuses on Academic Excellence; Life Skills & Career Readiness; Early Childhood; Culture, Engagement & Behavior; Technology & Digital Literacy; and Wellness, Mental Health & Eliminating Barriers.

So much to celebrate—and so much to look forward to as we begin another exciting school year!
