Osage County Fire District #5 is an all volunteer department operating out of two stations in central Osage County. We have 13 apparatus -- three engines, four brush trucks, two tender trucks, two medical units, a service truck, and an ATV. Our district covers 80 square miles, provides automatic mutual aid for 235 square miles, and provides county mutual aid for 700 square miles. Several major hig
hways route through our district, including US75, K268, K31, and K68 highways. We provide fire protection, first responder, rescue, and extrication services. Out of 18 active members in the department, 88% are nationally certified to the level of Firefighter I and 50% are certified to the level of Firefighter II. We have an average of 225 calls for service per year, with an average of 125 being medical emergency calls.
