National Police Week

This week we recognize those who serve our community selflessly.

Officer Skirvin is an outstanding officer and a true asset to the Lyndon Police Department. He serves our community with integrity, honor, and respect.

Thank you, Officer Skirvin, for your dedication and outstanding service to our community.

This week is National Police Week, a time to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities and to strangers they never knew.

Last year, Kansas lost four law enforcement officers in the line of duty: Undersheriff Brandon Gaede, Deputy Elijah Ming, Officer Hunter Simoncic, and Sergeant Scott Heimann. Their names, their service, and their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We honor the fallen. We pray for the loved ones they left behind. And we pray for the men and women who continue to serve, standing firm behind the thin blue line between service and sacrifice.

May we never forget the cost of the badge, the courage it takes to wear it, and the families who carry that sacrifice forever.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Ottawa Police Department, the Officer and their family throughout their recovery.
