HEADS UP! For kids who participated in this summer's Passumpsic Bank Trailblazer Challenge, ***Tuesday, September 15th*** is the deadline to turn in their completed summer reading journal at the Passumpsic Bank branch in Lyndonville and qualify for the prize of $2.50 per book read, up to a maximum of 10 books.
In order to qualify, kids must have read at least 4 books this summer, and recorded each book in their Trailblazer Challenge journal. At $2.50 per book, a child who has recorded 4 books in their journal will have earned a total of $10.
Each additional book earns them an additional $2.50, up to a maximum of 10 books -- so a child who has recorded all 10 books in their journal will have earned the maximum prize of $25.
Prize funds will deposited in a special youth bank account that the bank will open for your child -- this account has no fees and no minimum deposit. (If your child already has a youth bank account at Passumpsic Bank, the funds can be deposited in this existing account.)
So don't forget to bring your child and their completed Trailblazer Challenge summer reading journal to the Lyndonville branch of Passumpsic Bank (at 62 Broad Street) by the deadline of Tuesday, September 15th!
Many thanks to Passumpsic Bank for creating this cool program that both rewards reading, and encourages youth savings!
(And amazingly, this is ON TOP OF the very generous donation of $2,000 that Passumpsic Bank provided to fund Cobleigh Library's 2026 Summer Reading Challenge! Thanks to this donation, every child who completed the library's challenge -- by reading for at least 1,000 minutes at home, or by reading for at least 240 minutes at the KESD summer camp -- earned a prize voucher that allowed them to pick out a free book of their choice at Green Mountain Books, courtesy of Passumpsic Bank.)
