It has been an amazing 4 years. Aside from a hurricane, a pandemic and a corruption scandal, I have truly enjoyed being a Commissioner for the City of Lynn Haven. I have made some great friends and have been very impressed with the employees of Lynn Haven. I will miss the interaction with them and will miss being involved with helping the citizens with their issues as well as helping the city rebuild. This is truly a bittersweet moment in my life!
I want to thank the City Manager, Vicki Gainer, for all of her hard work and for always supporting me as I learned the position of Commissioner and Mayor Pro Tem. I also want to thank, Bobby Baker, Greg Kidwell, John Delonjay, Rickie Ramie, Amanda Richard, Ty Farris, Kiki Roman, Chris Lightfoot, Stephanie Nickell, Ben Janke, Shannon Scribner, and Joe Footen for being part of the amazing team that keeps Lynn Haven moving forward and for putting up with me. I am sure I have missed someone and I apologize for that.

I believe the city will be in great hand with Dr. Nelson and I know Vicki Gainer will support him as he grows into the roll. I ask that you support him as you have supported me these last four years.

This report does not tell the entire story as I understand it. I was told the threat came from his employer because he was using his government email address (va.gov) to send out campaign emails.

Lynn Haven Seat 4 candidate Brian Gray said he recently withdrew from the race, alleging he was forced out.

I want to thank everyone that has supported me over the last four years. I have enjoyed my position as Commissioner of the City of Lynn Haven and especially working with the amazing employees of our great city. I have a very service minded life and got so much fulfillment out of helping the city and it’s citizens.
That being said, I have made the decision not to run for my seat again. I have had a career change during this term and feel like I can not provide the necessary time to the city or to my new employer.
Please remember we are one Lynn Haven family and we should support one another anyway possible.
