We are grateful to the Catholic Health Foundation of Greater Boston for supporting MCH’s Casa Project–Birth to Big Kid Initiative!

This generous funding will help us continue walking alongside expectant mothers and families during some of their most critical early years—providing housing stabilization support, safe sleep education, and essential resources that help create safe, stable, and nurturing environments for children to grow and thrive.

Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless is a proud 2026 grant recipient of the Catholic Health Foundation!

We are grateful to the Catholic Health Foundation of Greater Boston for investing in the health, safety, and stability of families across our communities, and we look forward to the impact this partnership will make.

Sometimes, finding home takes more than finding an apartment. It takes someone willing to stay alongside you through the journey.

After a back injury forced Marlene to reduce her work hours, she lost her housing and spent months staying with friends and, at times, sleeping in her car.

When she connected with MCH’s Casa Project, our team worked alongside her to navigate housing systems, overcome barriers, and keep moving forward. After months of persistence, Marlene received the news she had been waiting for: she had a home.

Today, Marlene and her dog Bella are safely and stably housed in their own apartment.

Her story is a reminder of why this work matters. Behind every housing application, phone call, and advocacy effort is a person working toward something we all deserve: a safe place to call home.

A Massachusetts ID is more than a piece of plastic. It can be the key to accessing housing, employment, education, benefits, healthcare, and so much more.

For people experiencing homelessness, the cost of an ID and barriers to proving residency can make it harder to access these basic necessities.

Help remove these barriers. Support H.3750 / S.2399, also known as the Everyone Needs ID bill!

Housing is more than a roof over someone's head.

It is the foundation for health, education, opportunity, and hope.

Every day, our team works alongside families, individuals, older adults, youth, and children across Massachusetts to help prevent homelessness, strengthen housing stability, and connect people with the resources they need to thrive.

Today, the National Low Income Housing Coalition published its annual Out of Reach report, which highlights the growing gap between wages and the rising cost of rental housing across the U.S. Year after year, the report shows that safe, affordable rental homes remain out of reach for millions of low-wage workers, older adults, families, and other renters struggling to keep up with housing costs.

Massachusetts ranking 3rd nationally (4th in 2025) in the Out of Reach report underscores the severity of the state’s housing affordability crisis. This ranking means Massachusetts is one of the most expensive states in the country for renters, with housing costs far outpacing what many workers earn.

Last year alone, A Bed for Every Child provided more than 1,700 beds and nearly 10,000 books to children across Massachusetts, helping create healthier sleep environments and supporting children's growth, learning, and wellbeing.

Through our Be the Bridge campaign, we have highlighted the many ways MCH connects children and families to the resources, support, and opportunities they need to build stronger futures.
