A Healthy Lynnfield and the Lynnfield Police Department want everyone to have a fun and safe Homecoming weekend—at the game, at the dance, and after.

Parents and caregivers: know the plan, connect with other parents, and talk with your teens about alcohol, other substances, and house parties. Massachusetts Social Host Law carries serious consequences when underage drinking is knowingly allowed in a home or on property you control.

Students: look out for one another, make a plan for a safe ride home, and know you can always reach out to a trusted adult if you need help.

📚🚸 BACK TO SCHOOL SAFETY REMINDER🚸📚
As students head back to school, the Lynnfield Police Department would like to remind everyone to help keep our children safe.

🚗 Drivers🚗 :
• Slow down in school zones and residential neighborhoods.
• Watch carefully for children walking, biking, and crossing the street.
• Be alert for school buses and always follow the law when buses are stopped with flashing red lights.
• Expect delays during school drop off and pick up times.
• Avoid distractions and stay focused on the road.

🎒Students and Parents🎒:
• Use sidewalks and designated crosswalks whenever possible.
• Do not drop off children on the main road, drop off and pick up in designated areas only.
• Look both ways before crossing the street.
• Make sure children know their route to and from school.
• All bikers must walk bikes on crosswalks and on school grounds.
• Talk with your children about school bus and pedestrian safety.

There’s something for the whole family — a Police vs. Youth Softball Coaches game, BBQ, Cool Cow ice cream, kids’ scavenger hunt, face painting, henna, DJ, karate and self-defense demo, and a Massachusetts State Police K9 demonstration! 🐾

Today the Massachusetts Legislature passed legislation establishing a statewide ‘blue envelope’ program, giving motorists with autism spectrum disorder a simple, recognizable way to alert police officers to their diagnosis and help guide the interaction before it escalates.
