Join us for a special author talk with local author Rob Fitzgibbon! Released on June 2, 2026, A Murder in Salem, Massachusetts: The Death of Frances Cochran tells the story of the disappearance and death of 19-year-old Frances Cochran in 1941.

Robert Fitzgibbon is a software professional and North Shore resident. He coauthored Murder in Rockport Massachusetts (The History Press, 2025) with Gloucester historian Wayne Soini. Great-grandson of a Cape Ann quarry man , Rob delves into history for stories of the mysterious, the eerie, and the forgotten. Books will be for sale at the event.

Library Roof Repairs Beginning Monday June 22nd until further notice

Roof repair work at the library will begin shortly. Fencing will be installed around the building, and access to the rear parking area will be restricted for the duration of the project.

Please note:
• Do not park behind the building once fencing is installed.
• Parking and access behind the library will be closed until the project is completed.
• Parking will remain available along the church wall via Summer Street and on Arlington Street.
• Visitors should use caution when entering and exiting the area, as scaffolding and construction activity may impact access.

On Saturday, June 13th Lynnfield For Love invites our community to share in our 5th Annual Juneteenth Celebration. We will begin by gathering at the Lynnfield Middle School at 10am and embark on our symbolic Opal Lee Walk to the Town Common. Opal Lee is widely known as the “Grandmother of Juneteenth” and we honor her unwavering efforts to have Juneteenth, June 19th, recognized as a federal holiday. Immediately following the Opal Lee Walk we will begin our Juneteenth Flag Raising Ceremony. We partner with the North Shore Juneteenth Association to conduct our event and it is dedicated to celebrating Juneteenth and Black Excellence. Our program will include readings from Poets, music from talented Musicians and meaningful speeches. We will have refreshments and a Juneteenth Book Nook for children and adults.

This year’s event will mark our 5th year of conducting a Juneteenth program in Lynnfield. Lynnfield For Love is proud to fully fund each yearly event.
