Verdant Health Commission

Verdant Health Commission We are working to improve the health and well-being of our community, by educating and empowering residents to make healthy lifestyle choices.

The Verdant Health Commission funds a wide range of programs that empower people in South Snohomish County to make healthy decisions and get the care they need to stay well. For nearly half a century, we served the health needs of our community by managing the local community hospital. We are now focused on investing in innovative programs that will make a lasting impact on the health and well-bei

ng of South Snohomish County residents. Funded mostly by lease income from Swedish Health Services, revenue also comes in the form of interest income and property tax.

South County Fire's Community Resource Paramedic program is an innovative program that builds relationships with clients so they can be connected to recovery services, and reduces unnecessary 911 calls and ER visits.

South County Fire’s Community Resource Paramedics meet people struggling with substance use wherever they are in their journey.

This work is saving lives – and saving millions of dollars.

Paramedics can administer the prescription drug buprenorphine to overdose patients. This can lessen their opioid withdrawal symptoms and create a window when they may be more willing to undergo treatment. So far, more than 70% of patients contacted by our team have gone into recovery. It’s estimated to save the entire healthcare system more than $12 million each year.

You can learn how to recognize signs of an overdose and administer the antidote naloxone in our free ACT CPR & First Aid Class, offered monthly. Learn more at www.southsnofire.org/ACT. Learn about the Community Resource Paramedic program at www.southsnofire.org/CRP.

We were happy to support Sea Mar during National Health Center Week! 💚

We had the opportunity to set up at the clinic entrance and connect with patients as they came in, sharing swag and fresh, locally grown produce. It’s always a pleasure to partner with organizations like Sea Mar that are committed to caring for the health and well-being of our community.

Thank you to the Sea Mar team for all you do—we’re grateful to support your efforts and be part of recognizing National Health Center Week! 🌿🍎

💙 Celebrating National Health Center Week! 💙

This week, we recognize National Health Center Week and celebrate the incredible work of our nation's community health centers. These organizations provide high-quality, affordable healthcare to everyone—regardless of insurance status or ability to pay—helping build healthier, stronger communities.

Here in our community, we're grateful for the dedication of Sea Mar Community Health Centers and Community Health Center of Snohomish County (CHC), our two Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). Their teams work tirelessly to provide comprehensive medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and support services that make a meaningful difference in the lives of thousands of local residents every day.

At Verdant, we're proud to recognize and thank Sea Mar and CHC for their commitment to improving the health and well-being of our community. Your compassion, dedication, and service help ensure that everyone has access to the care they deserve.

Please join us in celebrating National Health Center Week and thanking the healthcare professionals and staff who make this important work possible! 💚

🚓 National Night Out is Tomorrow! 🎉

Tomorrow, Tuesday, August 4, neighborhoods across the country—including our community—will come together to celebrate National Night Out!

Verdant is excited to help spread the word about this annual event, hosted by the Lynnwood Police Department. It's a wonderful opportunity to connect with your neighbors, meet local first responders, and strengthen the sense of community that helps keep our neighborhoods safe.

The strongest neighborhoods are built on strong relationships. We encourage everyone to get outside, meet the people who live nearby, and enjoy an evening of community, connection, and fun.
