What have we been up to? We have been busy supporting our community by giving some of the money that we have raised because of our generous donors.
This week we were honored to have Joan Penney, from Housing Hope, speak about this organization. We also gave a donation to Housing Hope! This amazing non-profit "recognizes that it takes a combination of housing and support services to give struggling families opportunities to become self sufficient." They have 652 affordable housing units in Snohomish County. They offer job training for unhoused and unemployed. They help change the thinking from surviving today to thinking about tomorrow. They are an amazing group of people!
On July 17th, we had the wonderful pleasure of hearing updates from Caitlyn Houvener from Run to Win! She was joined by her wonderful and well spoken daughter. Run to Win has continued to offer sport camps to kids from 5 to 12. But they don't stop at sports. "We are here to serve and encourage athletes, kids, parents, and coaches through our camps, chaplaincy program, and other local events!"
Lynnwood Kiwanis also presented a check to help those kids who are unable to attend without the help of others.
THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU who continue to support The Kiwanis Club of Lynnwood. Your kind support helps many children throughout our area!
