As the mayor of Lynwood, my intention is to expand the village’s strengths and fortify any areas of weakness. I previously served for two years on Lynwood’s Board of trustees, six years on the Board of Education for Sunnybrook School District 171 and was its
Board President during my final two years. My background also includes being a local business owner where I am the Chief Recruiting Specialist for Education Recruiting Specialists, a full-service search firm that also offers human resources consulting. I am a graduate of Governors State University with a Bachelor and a Master of Arts degree. I am a member of Living Grace Church in Lynwood, lead by Pastor Phillip S. France Sr., where I sit on the Board of Trustees. But what brings me the most joy is my family. I am married to another public servant, who is a law enforcement officer. I have 2 children, a 15-year-old son and a 26-year-old daughter. As I reflect on my years of public service, it brings me joy to know that I am making a difference in the world. As the village’s first woman to hold the title as Village President/Mayor, I am hoping that my journey will create the prototype so that I won’t be the last. My desire is that this will inspire my daughter, little girls, and women to be unafraid to stand in front and lead the way. As Village President, I will expand on my belief that leading requires partnership, exploring economic growth opportunities, and introducing events that will bring us closer as a community.
