Coahoma County Fire Department was honored to participate in Camp Clarksdale this morning alongside our fellow public safety partners and first response agencies.

Throughout the event, local children had the opportunity to meet first responders, ask questions, explore emergency vehicles, and learn about the important roles and responsibilities that make up our local emergency response system. From firefighters and EMS professionals to law enforcement and public works personnel, the goal was to provide a better understanding of how these agencies work together to keep our communities safe.

We believe that investing time in our youth today helps build a stronger, safer community tomorrow. Thank you to the organizers of Camp Clarksdale for allowing us to be a part of this outstanding program and to all the children who participated with such enthusiasm and curiosity.

A special thank you to all of our local first responders who took time to educate, inspire, and engage with the next generation of our community .

***CCFD ASSISTS WITH MISSISSIPPI RIVER BODY RECOVERY***

On June 6, 2026 the Coahoma County Fire Department (CCFD) and S.O assisted in a multi-agency body recovery operation on the Mississippi River.

CCFD personnel worked alongside representatives from the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, Helena Fire Department, DeSoto County Sheriff's Office, Phillips County Sheriff's Office, Mississippi Task Force 1, and DeSoto County Emergency Services.

The operation demonstrated the importance of regional cooperation and the strong partnerships that exist between emergency response agencies on both sides of the Mississippi River. Through the combined efforts of all responding agencies, resources and personnel were effectively coordinated to safely conduct recovery operations.

CCFD extends its appreciation to all agencies involved for their professionalism, dedication, and commitment to serving our communities during difficult incidents such as these.
