Amazing dedication and hard work poured into USD 405 and our community.
Congrats to Brandt Rogers of Lyons High School on being named the KIAAA AD of the Week by the KIAAA - Kansas Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association
Rogers is in his first year as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Lyons High School after building a successful coaching and teaching career across Kansas.
A graduate of Meade High School, Rogers earned his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, master’s degree in Special Education, and building administrator credentials from Fort Hays State University.
He began his career at South Central in Coldwater in 2014, coaching high school boys basketball and girls tennis before moving to Ness City in 2017. During his six years at Ness City, Rogers helped lead the basketball program to a 2A state championship in 2019, a third-place finish in 2021, and three state tournament appearances. He also served as an assistant football coach and assistant golf coach during his time there.
Prior to coming to Lyons, Rogers spent two years at Liberal High School as a special education teacher while coaching high school basketball.
“Being an A.D. has been challenging, but very rewarding,” Rogers said. “I have had a front-row seat to many great moments, including watching a young man win a state wrestling title.”
Rogers said athletics have always played a major role in his life and were a driving force behind his decision to enter education.
His leadership philosophy centers on being visible and present while supporting coaches and student-athletes.
“I want to see coaches making a positive impact in the lives of student-athletes,” Rogers said.
One of the accomplishments he is most proud of in his first year at Lyons was helping create a Fall Sports Night that showcased athletes from every level throughout USD 405.
Looking ahead, Rogers hopes to continue growing participation numbers throughout Lyons athletics while increasing involvement in the weight room and strengthening programs across the district.
Brandt and his wife Haily will celebrate 10 years of marriage this July. They have two sons, Calum and Cannon.
