There is still time to get your registrations in for Kids Camp! You can mail to PO Box 505 Lyons, Kansas or you can bring them by the EMS office during business hours Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

I have gotten a few that were sent to the address on the Registration forms, so that does work as well.

BED BUG PREVENTION AND AWARENESS

Rice County Health Department is getting more questions about bed bugs in our community.

Bed bugs are small insects that hide in beds, furniture, and other areas where people rest. They don’t spread disease, but their bites can be itchy and uncomfortable—and they can cause stress and lost sleep.

Help prevent bed bugs:
✔️ Check beds and luggage after traveling
✔️ Avoid bringing in used furniture unless it’s been inspected
✔️ Reduce clutter where bugs can hide
✔️ Wash and dry clothing/bedding on high heat if concerned
✔️ Call a licensed pest control professional if you suspect bed bugs

Act early! Finding bed bugs quickly makes them easier to control.

For more information, visit: https://www.epa.gov/bedbugs
or contact your local pest control professional.

Prevent, identify, and treat bed bug infestations using EPA’s step-by-step guides, based on IPM principles. Find pesticides approved for bed bug control, check out the information clearinghouse, and dispel bed bug myths.

Every day, Kansans show up for their neighbors and communities through volunteering. According to America's Health Rankings, that spirit of service improves individual, community and societal health.

Kansas's rank at #5 for Volunteerism is a direct reflection of who we are as a state.

During National Volunteer Week, we want to thank every Kansan dedicating their time and talents to the causes that matter. You are part of what makes Kansas healthier.
