Lyons Bell & Star

Lyons Bell & Star The Lyons Bell and Star Committee would like to welcome our friends and neighbors to enjoy our dedication page. Oscar Laudick was the originator and designer.

History of the Bell & Star:

The red Christmas Bell and white Star has been in existence since 1938. It was first mounted on the Court House spire where it remained until 1948 when it was decided to remove the Bell and Star to the water tower. It has been put up every year but one - one Christmas in 1936 during the 2nd World War the government banned Christmas lights because of a black out. The Be

ll & Star has always been a community project and financed by donations. During its display small red plastic bells with a slot in the side for coins are distributed in the stores and service stations. There has always been enough money to meet the expenses of having it put up and taken down and the bulb replacement. Lyons Bell & Star Committee is currently seeking additional donations due to the cost of rewiring and updating of the Bell & Star. Thank you in advance for your donation and we hope you enjoy the Bell & Star for many years to come. May the love and uniqueness of the Lyons Bell be ever in our hearts-
May the Lyons Bell and Star bring many a cherished memory.
