The Vidalia Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Zaydian Damarion Jacobs, a 15-year-old runaway juvenile who was last seen on October 13, 2026.

Jacobs was last seen walking on foot in the area of North Street in Vidalia, Georgia.

Description:
Age: 15
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 119 lbs
Clothing: Gray shirt, green shorts, gray socks, and gray Crocs

Anyone with information regarding Jacobs’ whereabouts is asked to contact the Vidalia Police Department or Lieutenant Coursey and reference this missing juvenile case.

The Vidalia Police Department appreciates the public’s assistance in helping ensure his safe return.

Toombs County/Vidalia/Lyons: we've had a lot of questions about signage on your new SR 4/US 1/Lyons Bypass since we shared posts about it being recently opened to traffic. According to our GDOT engineers and your TIA regional coordinator, the highway signs (SR 4/US 1 and north/south) are already in their proper places on the bypass - it'll be the official SR 4/US 1 going forward. The old section of SR 4/US 1 that went through Lyons will be re-designated and new signs will be installed from Santa Claus to Lyons's north border.

Schedule: Applicants must be willing to work any shift needed. Days, Nights, OT, etc. Generally, a Rotating Schedule is utilized, and a regular schedule is 15 days a month.

Job Duties - General Outline

The 911 Communications Officer is responsible for receiving, processing, prioritizing, and dispatching emergency and non-emergency calls for service. The Communications Officer serves as a critical link between the public and emergency responders and is responsible for ensuring that accurate, timely, and appropriate information is communicated to law enforcement, fire, EMS, and other emergency personnel.

This position requires the ability to remain calm and professional in stressful and rapidly changing situations, exercise sound judgment, communicate effectively, multitask, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.

The mission of 911 is to ensure the safety of the public, emergency responders, and fellow Communications Center personnel.

Examples of Assorted Duties:

• Answer and process incoming 911 emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Obtain accurate information from callers regarding the nature, location, and severity of the incident.
• Determine the appropriate law enforcement, fire, EMS, or other emergency response needed.
• Dispatch emergency personnel and equipment to calls for service.
• Monitor and manage radio traffic for assigned agencies.
• Maintain continuous awareness of the location and status of responding units.
• Enter and update calls for service in the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
• Provide callers with appropriate pre-arrival instructions when trained and authorized to do so.
• Remain calm, professional, and courteous when dealing with distressed, emotional, or difficult callers.
• Relay accurate and timely information between callers, dispatchers, law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and other agencies.
