Today, we are recognizing Corporal James Farmerâs 4th year of service with the Toombs County Sheriff's Office. James is a lifelong resident of Toombs County and has two wonderful children. James served in the United States Navy and fought in the Iraq War. After serving our country, James joined the Vidalia Fire Department in 2005 and eventually became an arson investigator. Later, James began his law enforcement career as a patrol officer with the Vidalia Police Department and was later promoted to an investigator. A short time later, James was hired as an Agent with the GBI Tri-Circuit Drug Taskforce. James later worked as an Officer for the Department of Veterans Affairs. In 2022, James decided to serve his community as a Deputy with the Toombs County Sheriffâs Office. âI love what I do, and that's helping people who can't help themselves.â Thank you, Corporal Farmer, for your continued dedication to the Sheriff's Office and the citizens of our county.
