Good afternoon friends, I wanted to make a post and make you aware of a few things.
So, yesterday I was eating lunch and sat down beside of my good friends that I have known since we were teenagers. He turned around and said hey, then he said I need to ask you a question. Then he asked me where I lived. I told him I live just north of John’s Country Junction. He replied with I know you own land out there, but where do you actually live. I repeated myself and he said there is no house in your name in the county. At that point I realized where this was going. I showed him on Q public where my house was and explained why it didn’t show me as the owner.

So when I developed my property and I dealt with the tax assessors Office they informed me of paperwork I can fill out and it stops my personal information from being public due to being in law enforcement. The official code is OCGA 50-18-72(a)(21)&b.

The purpose of this code is to help protect myself and my family. I work in narcotics and Crime Suppression and I deal with people everyday that might try to seek revenge. Unfortunately this is just the world we live in today.

I want everyone to know how thankful and proud I am to own land and a home with my family on Reaves Ct. here in Toombs County.

I spent the first half of the day knocking on doors. I have really enjoyed getting out and meeting and making connections with the citizens. Good morning, yesterday I officially qualified to run for District 4 County Commissioner in Toombs County, Georgia as a proud Republican.

I am thankful for the opportunity to keep moving forward and hope to serve the people of Toombs County, the community I call home.

I am committed to honesty, integrity and transparency. We need leadership that listens, puts citizens first, and focuses on practical solutions that keep our county moving forward.

Today we had the opportunity to go eat lunch with one of our foster kids at the Lyons Primary School. He received the the Star Student of the Month award. Congratulations to my little buddy!

To add a small side note, it’s been a long time since I’ve eaten a school lunch. At least it was Friday and they had pizza!

The last week or two has been exciting! I have been out meeting with some of the great people of Toombs County and making the connections. I was honored to be able to speak at the Toombs County Republican Party monthly meeting last night. I was able to meet members of the community, who care about the future of Toombs County. I had the opportunity to answer several questions and I walked away encouraged having learned a lot from those who attended. Also guest speaker, Middle Judicial Circuit District Attorney Tripp Fitzner, spoke on current activities in our judicial system. Again, an honor to be there.

Toombs County Residents,

My name is Chris Reaves, and this is my formal announcement of intent to run for the office of Fourth District County Commissioner in Toombs County, Georgia.

I hope to get to know more of you, your family life, your work habits, and your faith.

God is first in my life, and I seek to build every decision on obedience to His Word.

I currently serve as the K-9 Sergeant with the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Department under the leadership of Sheriff Kyle Sapp. Prior to this position, I retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections in January 2021 after 29 years of service, where I proudly served as a K-9 handler also. My career in public safety has taught me the importance of discipline, responsibility, teamwork, and protecting the people we serve.

Family holds great value to me. I have been married for 21 years to my beautiful wife Jana. We are thankful parents of six children, grandparents to one grandson, and currently care for two foster children.

I understand the importance of safe and growing communities.
Toombs County is built on strong families, hardworking citizens, and a proud agricultural community. This makes me proud to be a resident and land owner here.

As a candidate, my goal is to lead in a way that best serves the people and growing community. I believe our county government should be fiscally responsible, transparent, and focused on growth that protects our rural way of life. If elected, these things will be my focus.

Thank you for your time, your trust, and your consideration. I look forward to earning your support and serving the people of the Fourth District and all of Toombs County.
