Lytle Fire had a mid morning structure…call came in as fire in the wall…
Eng206 and Squad706 arrived to find a single story wood frame constructed home with smoke showing. A quick 360 showed fire in the Charlie wall extending into the attic space. Eng206 quickly deployed a 1.75 cross-lay to the door for interior ops. A quick reset of the fire was done and extension contained. Eng206 deployed a vent team and opened the roof to release trapped heat and smoke…
Rossville VFD, Poteet VFD and ESD 5 Bexar Co. Fire/Rescue responded with engines and tenders to supply manpower and water. Crews were able to conduct adequate overhaul and s***f out the last bit of heat and smoke from the home.
Luckily the home was being renovated, so there were no personal belongings lost and no one was injured.
Lytle Fire would like to thank the previously listed fire departments along with Atascosa EMS Unit # 694, Atascosa SO, Atascosa FMO, and the Atascosa Sheriff’s Dispatch for all their help.
Thank you to Medina County ESD 5 for our newly purchased bunker gear which put in some work today.
Atascosa ESD 1 for our newly purchased breathing packs which make it possible for us to breath in these hostile environments.
And most importantly, thank you to the tax payers of the Atascosa ESD 1 area whose tax dollars help fund our training, equipment, gear, and help put paid personnel at the station 24/7.
The Lytle VFD is always looking for new members willing to learn, train, and respond to our communities’ emergencies. If interested, stop by and inquire or call 830-709-2326.
