We have received multiple inquiries regarding the burn ban status in our county. Yes, the burn ban remains in effect at this time. No outdoor burning is permitted. Van Zandt County is now under a burn ban. Violation of a burn ban is at least a Class C Misdemeanor with a fine of up to $500. The penalty can go up if it threatens another's property, places another in imminent danger, etc... Please share with everyone as there are very dangerous fire conditions right now.
