Dear NHS Families,
As we settle into the school year, I want to share an important reminder regarding our AM drop-off and PM pick-up procedures. Our priority is always keeping our students safe, and we need everyone’s help maintaining the established traffic patterns around the building.
AM Drop-Off:
As vehicles travel behind the building, the two traffic lines should merge into ONE line at the turn by the Stadium. That single line then continues along the back of the building to the designated drop-off area outside of the Auditorium doors. Currently, some vehicles are continuing in two separate lines and dropping students off from both lanes. Please do not drop students off from the outside traffic lane. Doing so requires students to cross an active lane of traffic to reach the building, creating an unnecessary safety concern.
Please merge at the turn, remain in the single drop-off line, and allow students to exit their vehicles only when they reach the designated drop-off area. Here is a video showing the traffice pattern: https://youtu.be/_SMRtTlA8hY
PM Pick-Up:
Afternoon pick-up takes place in the front of the building. When entering and exiting our campus, please:
Drive slowly and remain alert for students.
Maintain the established one-way traffic pattern, even outside of regular school hours.
Use extra caution as students are walking through the parking lot and surrounding areas.
We know arrival and dismissal are busy times, and we appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation. Taking an extra minute and following the established traffic pattern helps us ensure that all of our students can enter and leave school safely.
