‼️Mr.Beckwith has been located! ‼️

‼️HE HAS BEEN FOUND‼️

At approximately 8:45 a.m. on May 9, 2026, nearly 24 hours after Mr. Beckwith left for his morning walk, he was located by a Maine Search and Rescue Dog Team.

He was transported by Maine Forestry Helicopter to meet an awaiting ambulance. It is reported his condition is non critical at this time.

We want to thank the many agencies who assisted. As a public safety community ours is second to none. We won’t try and name them all for fear of leaving an organization out, but you know who you are.

Thank you for all the messages and Information relayed. It is very much appreciated.

We need your help!

Dennis Beckwith, 76 of Trescott left his Dixie Road residence on May 8, 2026 at approximately 9:00 a.m. for his morning walk. Mr. Beckwith has not been seen or heard from since.

He was last seen wearing jeans, a blue sweatshirt and blue baseball hat.

Presently, law enforcement have several K9’s and drones on scene. We ask that the public avoid the search area at this time in order to avoid contamination.

If you have seen, spoken to or know where he is please contact the Washington County Regional Communications Center. Call 911 or the non-emergency number at 255-8308.

To all Correctional Officers — and especially our Washington County Sheriff’s Office Correctional Officer friends and coworker's — thank you.

From one side of the radio to the other, we see the weight you carry, the calm you hold, and the professionalism you bring to every shift.

Happy Correctional Officers Week.
Your work matters.

Your dedication matters. What you do is demanding, dangerous, and often invisible to the public — but never to dispatch.

WRCC hears it, feels it, and respects it.

Your strength, your patience, and your commitment shows.

You’ve earned every bit of recognition this week brings.

...Elevated Fire Weather Danger Predicted Today...

A very dry air mass over the area and breezy conditions will
combine with dead and dry fuels such as grass, leaves, and twigs
to create the potential for uncontrolled fire spread across much
of northern and eastern Maine today. This afternoon, relative
humidities will decrease to low levels between 15 and 30 percent.
At the same time, winds around 10 mph with frequent gusts to 15
to 20 mph will continue to dry fuels and increase fire spread
potential. Wind gusts are expected to diminish later this evening
with increasing relative humidity values.

Extra caution should be taken to prevent wildfires. Always
consult with fire officials before engaging in any open
burning activities and comply with all applicable laws and
regulations. Never leave an open fire unattended and always
extinguish campfires completely before leaving.
