✨ The McDonough County Interagency Council is excited for this Wednesday’s 8th Annual Pete Tarantola Conference! ✨

This year’s theme - “See the Struggle. Spark the Strength!” - focuses on recognizing challenges while empowering growth and resilience.

We’re thrilled to offer an engaging lineup, including a keynote presentation by Regina Johnson and breakout sessions led by Erica Kirlin, Tessa Hobbs-Curley, Carol Kilver, and Shelby Carlson.

🗓 Conference Schedule:
• 9:00–9:45 — Table displays & networking
• 9:45–10:00 — Conference Kick-Off
• 10:00–12:00 — Keynote Presentation
• 12:00–1:00 — Lunch (food trucks available for purchase!)
• 1:00–1:55 — 1st Breakout Session
• 2:00–2:55 — 2nd Breakout Session
• 3:00–3:55 — 3rd Breakout Session

🍴 Lunch will be available from local favorites including Cousins Lobster, Sandra’s Tacos, and Frosty Treats and Eats. Purchase on your own.

The McDonough County Youth Task Force is hosting a 'Spring into Summer' event this Thursday, April 2nd from 5:00 - 6:30 pm at Macomb Middle School. This event is open to all McDonough County families and is designed to promote spring and summer activities, programs, and registration opportunities available in our community.

The McDonough County Interagency Council is excited to host the 8th Annual Pete Tarantola Conference. This year’s theme, “See the Struggle. Spark the Strength!”, highlights the importance of recognizing challenges while empowering resilience in the communities we serve.

Join us for a free, full-day conference on April 15th at the Macomb Spoon River College Outreach Center. The day will begin at 9:00 AM with over 20 agency table displays, offering valuable resources and opportunities to connect with local organizations.

We are honored to welcome Regina Johnson, Professional Learning Specialist for the ROE 33 & 26 Professional Development Consortium and founder of Champion Five, as our keynote speaker. Her presentation, “Beyond the Burnout: Building a Sustainable Educator Soul,” will provide meaningful insight and inspiration for educators and professionals alike.

Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase lunch from a variety of local food trucks available on-site, including Cousins Lobster, Sandra’s Tacos, Pattie’s Paddies, and Frosty Treats and Eats.

Following lunch, the conference will reconvene for our afternoon portion with breakout sessions led by Erica Kirlin (ROE 33), Tessa Hobbs-Curley (Illinois Extension), and Carol Kilver (Executive Coach).

The McDonough County Youth Task Force is excited to host our upcoming Spring into Summer event April 2, 2026 from 5-6:30pm at Macomb Middle School. All Families from McDonough County are welcome!

This event is designed to connect families with local spring and summer opportunities. Community organizations from across the county will be on-site to share information about their summer programs and offer sign-ups — all in one convenient place!

We’ll also have plenty of fun for kids of all ages, including:

🥤 Solo Cup Challenge
🎯 Bags tournament
🧱 Giant Jenga
