Update! Hardesty is back open!!

Hardesty road will be closed for a few hours starting at 8:30 to patch where we changed out the cross pipe. Between 102 and Drummond.

🔥 Effective August 13, 2026, all of Pottawatomie County is now experiencing Severe Drought conditions.

With dry conditions increasing the potential for fire spread, residents are urged to use extreme caution when burning.

If you are conducting a controlled burn:
Have a fire safety plan in place before you begin.
Check weather and wind conditions.
Keep water and firefighting equipment readily available.
Never leave a fire unattended.
Be prepared to extinguish the fire immediately if conditions change.
Notify dispatch before conducting a controlled burn 405-878-4818.

⚠️ A small fire can quickly become a dangerous wildfire under dry and windy conditions.

Be cautious. Be prepared. Help us prevent wildfires.

🚧 We will be closing Hardesty between HWY 102 and Drummond today.🚧

🚧 Just a heads up for tomorrow 8/11/2026. Hardesty road will be temporarily closed to through traffic at 8:30 between HWY 102 and Drummond to allow our road crew to replace a cross pipe beneath the roadway. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience while this necessary infrastructure improvement is completed. 🚧
