Safety is our highest priority, and we are committed to ensuring our crews are prepared to respond effectively in any situation. Today, our linemen participated in pole top rescue training, practicing the skills and procedures needed to safely rescue a coworker from an elevated work position. Regular hands-on training like this helps reinforce our safety culture and ensures our team is ready to protect one another while delivering reliable service to our community.

We want to make our members aware of reports of scam phone calls circulating in our area.

One member recently reported receiving a call from someone claiming his meter was “due for an upgrade” and that a crew would be sent to replace it. Fortunately, the member recognized the call as suspicious and hung up.

Please remember:
• McDonough Power Cooperative will never demand immediate action or payment over the phone.
• If meter work or service upgrades are needed, our employees and contractors are properly identified and scheduled through official communication channels.
• Never provide personal, banking, or account information to unsolicited callers.

If you receive a suspicious call claiming to be from McDonough Power Cooperative, hang up and contact us directly to verify the information.

Please help spread the word so others can avoid falling victim to scams.
