Sometimes the job calls for more than fighting fires.

Earlier today, crews from B-1, L-10, and E-7 responded to assist with an unexpected visitor inside a local church just before a funeral service. Thankfully, firefighters were able to safely catch and remove the hawk without injury, allowing the service to continue.

Great job by our crews for handling the situation with care and professionalism. 🦅🚒

Here’s a great moment from our Pink Pancake Breakfast as we proudly presented a check to United in Pink 💗

Because of the support from our community, sponsors, and everyone who came out, we were able to give back to an amazing organization that continues to make a difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer.

We appreciate everyone who helped make this event a success!

Here’s a few pictures of four of our firefighters loading up and heading to Brantley County to assist.

Lt. Tommy DeWitt, Sgt. Kendall Brown, Firefighter Wesley Briscoe, and Firefighter Andrew Evans are representing the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department as they answer the call to help. We appreciate their dedication and commitment to serving not just our community, but others in need across the state.

Safe travels, we’ve got your back.

🔥 A tough reminder of how quickly things can escalate.

In just the past two days (April 18–19), Georgia saw:
➡️ 52 wildfires
➡️ 3,055 acres burned

With drought conditions worsening across the state and no meaningful rainfall in sight, it doesn’t take much for a spark to turn into a wildfire—and for that fire to spread fast.

Right now, prevention is critical.
✔️ Avoid parking or driving on dry grass
✔️ Use outdoor equipment carefully
✔️ Never leave fire unattended
✔️ Follow all burn restrictions and guidance

These numbers aren’t just statistics—they’re a reminder that wildfire risk is high, and it’s something we all play a role in.

One Less Spark = One Less Wildfire

Fighting fire. Protecting forests. Serving Georgia.
