Macon County Solid Waste NC To provide the community with information about closures at the Landfill, Transfer Station, and Recycling Centers.

Holly Springs and Nantahala Recycle centers will remain closed tomorrow 2/3/26. Otto Recycling Center and Highlands Transfer station will tentatively open at 10am. All other locations will run on normal operating hours.

Thank you for your patience while staff work to clear snow and ice.

All Franklin facilities will be on a delayed schedule tomorrow 2/2/26. With the possibility of all day closures. The Highlands Transfer Station, Buck Creek, Scaly and Nantahala Recycling Centers will be closed. Please check back here for updates tomorrow morning.

The Macon County Landfill, Highlands Transfer station, Highlands Rd center and Iotla center will operate on normal business hours tomorrow Monday January 13th. Buckcreek, Otto, and Carson centers will be on a delayed opening schedule.

Holly Springs Recycling Center will be closed tomorrow.
