Good Morning. I hope all the Fathers enjoyed a happy and memorable Father’s Day.

I wanted to wait until the election was certified to make any comments. I want to thank each and every one of you all that came out and voted for me, supported me and prayed for me.

What a blessing it was to run for Mayor of my hometown, but having my daughter serve as my Campaign Manager and Lead Strategist made each day even sweeter. Watching my daughter grow from my little girl to an honor graduate and law student has been the greatest gift of my life and remains my motivation to the commitment of improving the lives of the youth in Bibb County and creating opportunities for them to succeed.

I have decided that I will be endorsing and working alongside a candidate for Mayor. I will make my determination based on who I think will best honor the duties and responsibilities as Mayor and will be dedicated to improving the qualities of life for our youth, creating jobs, and best equipped to protect small business and protect the economy of Macon-Bibb post Covid-19.

It was brought to my attention that many of you were discouraged with the low voter turnout of the election. I want to emphasize the importance of voting. You must vote to change public policy. You must vote to create better opportunity for yourselves and your children. Parents take your children to vote. Young people, take your friends to vote. We must cast our ballots in order for things to change. Stay encouraged and I will lead by example by endorsing the candidate that is willing to implement my programs and who I think is the best candidate to serve as Mayor. I have spoken to both candidates and will be making a determination soon.

Good morning!

Today is Election Day. Today is the day you make your voice heard!

For many of us this the manifestation of our ancestors prayers.

For many of us this is for what our parents and grandparents marched, were hosed, were lynched and died for, the right to vote.

Please vote and vote for the RIGHT candidate.

I am the candidate for all people. I was born and raised in Macon-Bibb. I have created thousands of jobs and have written and implemented successful programs such as the Workforce Development Program and Macon PAL Program.

I have been in banking for over 25 years and am the only candidate that has the financial background and understanding to stimulate the economy post Covid-19. I understand how to generate revenue for the city and improve the quality of life for all residents of Macon-Bibb.

My priority is the youth. I have served as an advocate, mentor and coach for over 35 years and understand the needs and lacks of our youth. I will implement and revitalize proven successful programs to ensure youth remain on grade level through high school and are college or work ready at 18.

I am the best candidate for the job. I’m most-qualified, I’m passionate about the people of Macon-Bibb and I have the understanding and experience to move the community forward.

Yesterday, Macon-Bibb took a great step towards justice, unity and equality.

As I stood before the people of Macon-Bibb, I saw the faces of African-Americans, Whites, Latinos, Native Americans, Asians... I saw a plea for acknowledgement and acceptance from the LGBTQ community.

We must have leadership that understands and values the beauty in the diversity we have here in Macon-Bibb.

As mayor, I vow to work with the Sheriff to ensure diversity in law enforcement. I will work with the Sheriff to improve the vetting process to make sure our officers are willing and able to “protect and serve” all people at all times.

I will work to generate revenue to ensure more scholarships and grants are accessible for ethnic minority and LGBTQ students .

I will implement minority set asides in my plans to generate revenue for the city to ensure minorities have access to living wage jobs.

I am the Mayor for all of Macon- Bibb.

Throughout my campaign, you have seen and will continue to see me AMONGST the PEOPLE. Listening to the needs and concerns of the people.

As a Mercer grad and banker of over 25 years, I have the professional background to lead Macon-Bibb out of its financial crisis and budgetary shortfall. I will implement proven successful business models to generate revenue for the city, reduce taxes, and create jobs.

As a leader in the community of over 35 years teaching financial literacy, a youth mentor, advocate and coach, I know the needs of the city and the disproportionately difficult lives some of our youth are facing which inevitably leads to a path of crime and destruction. Many of our youth in Macon-Bibb do not have the proper nutrition to excel in school, have difficult home lives or have been mentally or physically abused. I will implement proven-successful development, academic and mentorship programs, to ensure mental and physical stability for all youth, maintenance of grade-level performance and youth activity, a critical part of youth development.

When you cast your vote tomorrow, please, for the sake of Macon-Bibb, vote Marc Whitfield. I am educated, most -qualified to lead Macon-Bibb, especially out of a financial crisis, and have served over 35 years.

Macon-Bibb is my home. I have served this community with love and with the best interest of the people at heart and poured my God-given ideas into this city.
