On July 4, between approximately 2:00 a.m. and 2:30 a.m., several altercations occurred outside the Bee Hive Café on Constantine Street in Shuqualak, Mississippi. During one of the incidents, multiple shots were fired.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined that an altercation involving Brendasha Bryant and Sherika Yates resulted in Ms. Bryant sustaining a gunshot wound to her upper right arm. Based on the evidence gathered and statements obtained during the investigation, investigators established probable cause, and a warrant has been issued for Sherika Yates for the charge of Aggravated Assault.
At this time, Ms. Yates has not been arrested. Investigators have reason to believe she has left the State of Mississippi and may be in Omaha, Nebraska.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Sherika Yates or any information related to this investigation is encouraged to contact the Noxubee County Sheriff's Department or submit an anonymous tip through their local Crime Stoppers program using the P3 Tips app.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation, and additional arrests may be made. The Noxubee County Sheriff's Department will continue working with the District Attorney's Office and the U.S. Marshals Service to locate and apprehend all individuals wanted in connection with this case, whether they are inside or outside the State of Mississippi.
