Good Evening, 8th Grade Parents,
This message is a little long, but please read all of it carefully.
First, we want to explain why each student is only receiving three tickets for tomorrow’s program.
We are blessed to have one of the largest 8th grade classes in the district, with more than 300 students. Because of this, if every student brings three guests, there will be more than 1,200 people in the gym, including students and staff.
For safety reasons and to follow fire code rules, we cannot allow more than three guests per student. We understand that families are proud of their children and want many loved ones to attend. However, we must follow safety guidelines.
Please note:
* Children age 4 and younger do NOT need a ticket.
* Everyone age 5 and older MUST have a ticket to enter.
Second, we want to let families know that parents/guardians will be allowed to take their child home after the program.
To help things move quickly, safely, and in an organized manner, we will follow the process below:
1. The student and the parent/guardian listed in Infinite Campus should go together to the assigned table for the student’s cluster.
2. A WMS staff member will ask for:
* the student’s name, and
* a photo ID from the parent/guardian.
3. After the identity is confirmed, the parent/guardian will sign the student out.
Important:
Only the parent or guardian listed for the student may sign the child out in the gym.
If someone other than the listed parent/guardian attempts to sign the student out, that person must report to the front office for additional verification. The student will remain at school until verification is completed.
We understand this process may seem strict, but these procedures are in place to protect our students and to follow state law.
To help ensure safety and order, BCSD Campus Police will also be on site.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to celebrating our students with you tomorrow.
-Dr. Nichols, Principal
