Chariton Valley and Macon Electric Cooperative teamed up once again through their Co-ops in Action program to give back to the community. On May 19, volunteers from both cooperatives gathered at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville to clean headstones in preparation for Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

The service project honored the men and women who served and sacrificed for our country, while helping preserve their memory for future generations. The Missouri Army National Guard also joined the effort, showing the power of community partnerships and shared gratitude for our veterans.

Since 2017, Co-ops in Action has brought employees together quarterly to complete meaningful projects that strengthen the communities they serve.

Macon Electric Cooperative’s meter exchange program is nearing completion! Since beginning the project in January, we have successfully installed new meters for approximately 90% of our membership, and we expect the project to wrap up in early June.

At the beginning of January, a bill insert was mailed to members announcing the start of the exchange program with links to our website to learn more. With more than 11,000 meters across our system to replace, this has been a major undertaking for our cooperative team.

We want to sincerely thank all of our members for your patience, understanding, and cooperation throughout this process. We know there have been a few unexpected hiccups along the way, and we want you to know that every concern, question, and piece of feedback has been taken seriously by our team.

This project is an important investment in improving service reliability and efficiency for our cooperative, and we truly appreciate the support our members have shown during this transition. Thank you for working with us and for being a valued part of the Macon Electric Cooperative family!

Today we celebrate the individuals who keep the lights on, our dedicated lineworkers.

Rain or shine, day or night, they’re the first to respond and the last to leave, working tirelessly to ensure our communities stay powered and safe. Their commitment, skill, and courage often go unseen, but never unappreciated.

On Lineman Appreciation Day, Macon Electric Cooperative proudly thanks our line crews for the sacrifices they make and the vital work they do every single day. We’re grateful for your service to our members and our community.

Join us in showing appreciation for these everyday heroes! ⚡💙

We had some serious fun with the coolest group of preschoolers at MACTEC this morning!😎
These kiddos were outstanding listeners and had lots of great questions (and stories)! We love sharing about electricity and the importance of being safe around power. ⚡
There could be some future lineman in this group! What do you think? 💪
