THIS is what high school athletics is all about. 💙♥

This moment was captured after last week’s volleyball match. The competition was over. The scoreboard was settled. But before these young ladies left the court, two teams came together in a circle showing respect, unity, and incredible sportsmanship.

This is what we want our student-athletes to learn: compete hard, represent your school with PRIDE, and always respect the people standing across from you.

But there was something missing from the gym that night… YOU.

Our student-athletes work hard. They practice after school. They balance academics and athletics. They put on that Southwest uniform and represent all of us. They deserve to look into the stands and see their families, teachers, classmates, alumni, and community cheering them on.

So, Patriot Family, We are asking you to SHOW UP FOR OUR STUDENTS this week! 📣🏐🏃🏾‍♀️🏈

Check the comments for this week’s athletic schedule. Pick a game. Bring somebody with you. Wear your blue, white and red. And let our students know that THE SOUTH SUPPORTS THE SOUTH!

Southwest High School is proud to launch our Clothing Closet, a resource designed to support our students and help them feel confident, comfortable, and ready to learn.

We are asking our Southwest community, families, local businesses, and community partners to help us stock our Clothing Closet! 👕👟

We are accepting donations of:
❤️ Gently used or new clothing
💙 Shoes & sneakers
🤍 Hoodies, jackets & outerwear
❤️ Socks, belts, hats, backpacks & other accessories
💙 Clothing for students of all sizes

Every donation, big or small, can make a BIG difference in the life of a Southwest Patriot. Your generosity helps ensure that our students have access to clothing essentials when they need them most.

📍 Donations can be dropped off at Southwest High School’s Main Office.

Attendance matters—and showing up can pay off!

Beginning Tuesday, August 18 through Wednesday, November 4, Southwest students who maintain 96% attendance and miss no more than 2 days will earn a $50 GIFT CARD! 🎉

🎉 GOAL SET. GOAL MET. PATRIOTS CELEBRATED! 🍦❤️🤍💙

Our Patriots accepted the challenge and showed that progress is possible when we work together! After reducing tardies from 232 to just 83, it was time to celebrate! 🙌🏾

Today, students enjoyed an extended lunch, time with friends in the courtyard, music, and a cool ice cream treat! 🍦🎶

This was more than a celebration, it was a reminder that positive choices deserve to be recognized. Now, the challenge is to keep the momentum going!
