Celebrating the life and legacy of Otis Redding!

On Wednesday, September 9, Macon-Bibb County will officially dedicate Otis Redding Way on Cotton Avenue, connecting two places that continue to carry his legacy forward. Come celebrate with us!

Kick off King of Soul Festival weekend with a meaningful celebration of Otis Redding’s birthday, life, and legacy. 💙

Join us Wednesday, September 9 at 10 AM as Macon-Bibb County officially dedicates Otis Redding Way at 436 Cotton Avenue.

The dedication connects two places carrying Otis’ story forward: the Otis Redding Museum at one end and the Otis Redding Center for the Arts at the other.

After the dedication, bring your chairs and blankets, grab lunch from one of your favorite downtown eateries, and join us at the Zelma Redding Amphitheater for Otis’ Birthday Lunch & Listen until 1 PM. 🎶

SCAM ALERT. This is NOT a raffle hosted by the Frank Johnson Recreation Center nor Macon Bibb County Recreation. The man has been selling these for years and taking your money. He was spotted Sunday morning outside the Kroger on Tom Hill Sr Boulevard.

Imagine your children being at the center for programs, and staff having to stop it all to talk with angry people showing up for a raffle that doesn’t exist. This scam is taking time away from recreational programming, as well as people’s money.
