Join Middle Georgia DSA on Saturday, August 22, at 5:00 PM in Tattnall Square Park for our Bench Painting Event!!!

Last weekend, Middle Georgia DSA members got together and built 7 benches. We are excited to invite the people of Macon to come help us paint this round of benches. Come hang out and learn about our many projects, or just come meet some neighbors!

Many stops on the 11 bus routes in Macon-Bibb County have no seating, let alone shelters. These things cost money, and the MBCTA is limited by the funding it receives from Federal, State, and Local officials. That's where we come in! When we join together, we can provide the comfort and dignity we deserve as humans and residents of Macon-Bibb County.

The County Commission may have cancelled the last meeting we planned to speak at, but we will not allow our movement to be deterred by simple scheduling shennanigans. We're showing out to the very next one!

Flock Safety Cameras are an unsafe, invasive, and expensive technology that make all of us less safe. Despite this, Macon-Bibb County plans to spend hundreds of thousands of our tax dollars to put even more up around the city. It's time to tell the County Commission to Block Flock, and end the city's contract with Flock Safety.

Middle Georgia DSA's brake light clinics intend to reduce police interaction by depriving officers of the excuses they often use to pull people over, particularly black and non-white people, and then escalate to searches and unnecessary arrests.

Macon-Bibb commissioners cancelled the public comment meeting last minute, so we are letting our demands about Flock be known here.

1. We want the end of the Macon-Bibb County’s contract with Flock Safety
2. We want a moratorium and referendum on the installation of new ALPRs
3. We want an ordinance that regulates the use of ALPRs.

Our voices matter and we will continue on in our efforts to block Flock cameras in our city.
