📚➗ Learning in Action in 5th Grade! ➗📚

Our 5th graders in Mr. Reddy's class are hard at work building their mathematical thinking as they explore volume of rectangular prisms through collaborative discussions, partner work, and independent practice.

Students are actively engaged in standards-based instruction, using equations, problem-solving strategies, and evidence to explain their thinking. Throughout the lesson, learners worked together to deepen their understanding before applying new skills independently using their notebooks and technology resources.

We love seeing students take ownership of their learning, collaborate with peers, and persevere through challenging tasks. Great job, Mr. Reddy and 5th grade students, for demonstrating focused engagement and a commitment to academic excellence!

What an incredible first week of school! ❤️📚

This week, students and teachers focused on building the foundation for a successful year by learning routines and procedures, practicing technology safety, and establishing expectations for learning. Students also began engaging in Leader in Me lessons, learning the habits and skills that help them become leaders in the classroom, at school, and beyond.

Already, classrooms are buzzing with meaningful conversations, standards-based instruction, and teacher-led small groups designed to meet students where they are academically. Strong learning routines are being established, creating environments where students can collaborate, think critically, and take ownership of their learning.

The strong routines, relationships, and leadership skills being built now will support student success throughout the year. Thank you to our teachers, students, and families for helping make our first week such a positive experience!
