We will always remember the tragic and senseless loss of 19 students and 2 staff members in Uvalde, Texas, on May 24, 2022.

What occurred in Uvalde does not reflect the standard we expect from school-based law enforcement.

At NASRO, we remain steadfast in our commitment to building a future where every school-based police officer is thoughtfully selected, thoroughly trained, and fully prepared to respond to and prevent violence in our schools.

Spent the last three days back in the classroom!

Just finished up the Rural Patrol Drug Interdiction course with the Midwest Counterdrug Training Center today at Truman University in Kirksville, MO. It was a great opportunity to learn about current trends so I can better protect and serve our students and community.

Thank you!!!

Thank you!!!

A huge thank you to the United States Deputy Sheriffs Association (USDSA)!

We are incredibly grateful to the US Deputy Sheriffs Association for their generous donation of 10 belt trauma kits to the Macon County Sheriffs Office!

These life-saving kits will be issued to our deputies, giving them the critical tools they need to provide immediate trauma care, not only for themselves and their fellow officers, but for the members of our community they serve every day.

The USDSA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting law enforcement agencies across the country, and their commitment to officer safety and community wellbeing is truly appreciated. We are proud to be among the departments they have chosen to support.

Join us on Missouri Street (Highway 63) as local law enforcement and Special Olympic Athletes carry the torch for Special Olympics!

Today at 10:00am, we will gather at Maffry Avenue and run with local athletes carrying the Special Olympics torch along the highway. We will stop at either Sonic or 385 Nutrition (athlete's choice), so line up along our route and show your support for our local Special Olympics athletes and law enforcement for this important cause.

See you there!

Students in the Driver’s Education program at Macon County R-1 School District, along with members of the Coalition for Roadway Safety and the Macon County Sheriff’s Office, participated in a classroom presentation followed by fun-filled obstacle courses while wearing the “Drunk Goggles,” or the “THC Goggles.”

Students had a great time attempting to complete simple tasks while experiencing the effects simulated by the goggles. The activity provided a fun and interactive way to promote safe driving awareness and decision-making behind the wheel.

This week, we recognize and honor the men and women who serve their communities during National Police Week.

Thank you to all law enforcement officers — past and present — who dedicate themselves to protecting others, building relationships, and making a difference every day. We especially remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their service and commitment will never be forgotten.
