There are many ways for students to cash in their PAWS stickers, including the opportunity to read to elementary students at a school on our shared campus. On Friday, students had the chance to visit and read with younger learners. A special thank you to Mrs. Caraballo at Shoemaker for welcoming our students into her classroom and supporting this meaningful PBIS experience.

The sixth grade kickball tournament came to an exciting conclusion with a championship showdown between the student champions and the sixth grade teachers for grade level bragging rights! In a surprising turn of events, the students claimed victory by a wide margin. What a fun way to bring the entire grade together for some old fashioned fun, friendly competition, and lasting memories! Thank you to Mr. Gee for all of his efforts running the 6th grade kickball tournaments during recess, it is greatly appreciated by the students!

The annual Eyer Talent Show was an awesome display of talent and creativity! Our students dazzled us with their incredible abilities and the courage to perform in front of the entire school community. We are so proud of all the students who volunteered to share their talents and step onto the stage today!

A special thank you to Mrs. Knecht and Mrs. Hastie for their outstanding leadership and hard work, from organizing the auctions to coordinating today’s performances.

The Art Club mural was completed several weeks ago and features a cartoon version of Spike sitting back, soaking up some rays while admiring the many after school clubs and activities available at Eyer. This is an awesome addition to what was once a very plain white stairwell, bringing color, creativity, and school spirit to the space.

Another fantastic Field Day is in the books!
Students enjoyed everything Macungie Park had to offer as they rotated through stations featuring backyard games, inflatables, tug of war, and, of course, swimming at the Macungie Pool. The students had an absolute blast, and spending a day outdoors is always good for the soul. A huge shoutout to our staff for their supervision and support throughout the event, as well as the Health, Wellness, and Fitness team for their outstanding work planning and executing Field Day. Their efforts made the day a tremendous success, and they did an amazing job!

They consistently show teamwork, a positive attitude, and demonstrate sportsmanship in health fitness and wellness classes. A special thank you to our Health, Wellness, and Fitness teachers for making this exciting opportunity possible and for continuing to inspire our students to continue to work on their physical development every day!

As a culminating event for Mental Health Awareness Month, Mrs. Hackman, our Communities and Schools Coordinator, hosted our annual Mental Health Fair in the Commons and Eyer Courtyard. The event featured a variety of community providers who shared practical wellness strategies, including grounding techniques that adolescents can use to support their mental health. Students also enjoyed interactive activity stations led by Eyer students and clubs, where they created mini Zen gardens, glitter jars, worry stones, and other mindfulness-focused projects.

This purposeful and engaging experience provided students with valuable tools and resources while fostering awareness and conversation around mental wellness. It was a wonderful way to conclude Mental Health Awareness Month during our lunch periods. A special thank you to Mrs. Hackman for her dedication and hard work in planning and coordinating this impactful event!

On Friday, 7th grade students in Technology Education put their egg drop designs to the test by dropping them from the roof of the building. The challenge was to see which student-created designs could safely transport an egg from the roof to the ground without breaking. It was a fun and engaging way for students to apply the design, engineering, and problem-solving skills they have been developing in Technology Education.
