Young artists are invited to explore dinosaur art through hands-on creativity! Kids will use play dinosaurs to create prehistoric scenes, then experiment with texture by making “dino skin” rubbings using crayons and textured plates. This fun, process-focused art program encourages creativity, fine motor skills, and a love of dinosaurs.

This program is intended for those heading into Grades K-5. Located in the Children's Program Room.

Join us in reading an outdoor story! Miss Jess will read pages from "Tidy" by Emily Gravett that are placed all around the Lower Macungie Community Center. This event will be outdoors, so dress appropriately! We'll be walking, reading the story, and doing various activities throughout the walk. We will meet at the gazebo to start our walk.

The StoryWalk® will be up for a week, weather permitting. No worries if you can't make today's event, you can still do the program with your child anytime throughout the week!

No registration required, drop-ins are welcome!

Join us for a ROARING good time! Two dinosaur experts will be presenting their REAL dinosaur bones and showing us what it's like to be a paleontologist!

Finding a dinosaur may be accomplished by one person but, getting a dinosaur out of the ground is always a team effort. All the different skills that come together on a paleontological dig will be showcased. Audience members will experience the thrill of digging up a real Triceratops dinosaur bone and then help construct a dinosaur on a large cut-out!

The show will feature the skull of an Albertosaurus named Elvis and explore the characteristics of this dinosaur. The program will include audience participation, a touch of magic, show and tell with real fossils and the mystery fossil game show will round out the program.

Mike and Roberta Straka have been conducting and managing paleontological digs in North and South Dakota since 1978. Each year, they teach paleontology and geology in elementary schools and libraries throughout NY, NJ, and PA.

This program will be located in the Multipurpose room. Recommended for Grades K and up. Adults are welcome!

Join us at the library as we celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States of America with fun, hands-on activities. Through simple activities, and red-white-and-blue crafts, we will explore important symbols of the USA while celebrating this once-in-a-generation milestone. We may even have a birthday cake to help celebrate America’s big birthday!

This is a two-hour drop-in program with activities for adults and families to do together; the activities/crafts do not actually take two hours to do. Located in the Children's Program Room and Multi-purpose Room. No registration is required, drop-ins are welcome.

If your child needs a special accommodation, please contact [email protected] ahead of time and we would be more than happy to assist!
