Those who had the pleasure of working with Mokey know he always appreciated a personal celebration. Although we honored all of our 2009 retirees earlier that year, we organized a special farewell luncheon for his final day. In his honor, the team even sported his signature goatee! 😃 It is hard to believe this milestone was 17 years ago. We wish him continued joy in his retirement.

Congratulations Sergeant Holmes on 7 years of retirement!

Madera County Probation would like to congratulate Juvenile Detention Officer Sgt. Cheryl Holmes on her retirement after 38 years of service for Madera County Probation that began in 1981. She initially started as an extra-help Juvenile Detention Officer and worked her way up to the rank of Sergeant. Although she semi-retired in 2012, she continued to work as an extra-help officer at the Juvenile Detention Facility. In 2000/2001, Sgt .Holmes was a major contributor to the department’s successful transition from the prior Juvenile Hall to the current Juvenile Detention Facility. Additionally, her years of experience helped guide many co-workers and her vast knowledge of policies and procedures will be greatly missed as will she! Madera County Probation wishes her the best on her retirement and this new chapter of her life!
