In recognition of Juneteenth and the upcoming 250th anniversary of American independence, California State Parks is offering a special edition California State Parks Historian Passport for free download.

From June 17 through July 6, Californians can download the passport at ReserveCalifornia.com and enjoy unlimited visits to participating state historic parks through the end of 2026.

This is a great opportunity to explore California’s missions, Gold Rush history, museums, and historic sites across the state.

The City of Madera is kicking off its "Help Keep Our City Clean" campaign, funded by Caltrans, with a community clean-up event!
Meet at the John Wells Youth Center, 701 E. 5th Street.

Volunteers will help clean sections along the Vernon McCullough River Trail on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Please wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle and sunscreen.
