With excessive heat forecast for the Madera area, City of Madera Cooling Centers are tentatively scheduled to be open Thursday, June 11 through Saturday, June 13.

Need a ride? Free transportation to cooling centers is available through Madera Metro and Dial-A-Ride services.

The City of Madera is kicking off its "Help Keep Our City Clean" campaign, funded by Caltrans, with a community clean-up event!
Meet at the John Wells Youth Center, 701 E. 5th Street.

Volunteers will help clean sections along the Vernon McCullough River Trail on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Please wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle and sunscreen.
