‼️Important Information‼️
Property Tax Cap Reduction (SJR 39) —

🗳️This would lower the cap on how much your property’s taxable value can increase each year—and it will be a vote of the people.

📉Here’s what’s changing:
• Non-homestead & commercial: 5% ➡️ 4%
• Homestead & Agricultural: 3% ➡️ 1.75%

✔️ The upside:
More predictable tax bills, especially when property values rise quickly.

⚠️ The trade-off:
Property taxes fund schools, law enforcement, and emergency services. Lower caps can slow that funding over time.

🏡 What this means for you:
It may limit how fast your taxable value increases—but it doesn’t eliminate taxes or guarantee your bill won’t go up.

📌Bottom line:
It’s about balancing taxpayer relief with funding the services our communities rely on.
