With the below freezing temperatures in this weeks forecast. It is important to make sure the space heater in your well house is functioning correctly. Cover up any exposed fixtures and water hydrants. Stay warm friends!

Winter is coming. Make sure to have your water well house insulated. Electric plug in heaters are great preventative. If your not sure you are prepared, give us a call, we would be glad to help!

Big time cold alert! An extremely strong cold front will move into The Plains this Saturday.

Wind chills will drop into the teens and negative numbers by Saturday Afternoon for Oklahoma and Kansas. Air temps in the teens and 20s for Saturday night. Texas, your cold will come on Sunday.

Wintry weather is possible, too.

IS YOUR WATER WELL SYSTEM PREPARED FOR HARSH WINTER WEATHER?

Don’t let Mother Nature threaten your water supply!

Install A Heat Lamp or a Small Space Heater

Now you’ll want to install a heat lamp/ space heater inside the well house. You’ll need to plug it in, so be sure to use outdoor-safe extension cord to connect the lamp or heater to the electrical outlet. The heat lamp or heater will keep the well nice and warm.

Exposed Wells

Cover the well with one of the following:
An insulated, preconstructed well cover (you can find fiberglass rocks or well houses for sale at hardware stores)
A trash can (better yet, a trash can within a trash can, with insulation in between the two cans)

And just to be on the safe side, it never hurts to have your well components undergo a well inspection by a licensed pro. We are happy to perform this task for you – just give us a call.
