📢 Back-to-School Health Reminder for Families
As we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, some students will need updated vaccinations before the first day of school on August 12, 2026.

Students entering Kindergarten, 7th Grade, and 12th Grade are required by Virginia law to have certain vaccinations on file before school begins.

💡 Why schedule early?
Doctor’s offices fill up quickly in late summer. Scheduling now helps you:
✔ Avoid the rush
✔ Ensure your child is ready for the first day of school
✔ Keep students healthy and ready to learn

If your child needs vaccinations, please contact your healthcare provider soon. Families without insurance may qualify for free vaccines through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program.

📋 Remember to provide a copy of your child’s vaccination record to your school.

☀️🍎 School is out, but healthy meals are still on the menu! 🍎☀️
Amherst County Public Schools is proud to participate in the Summer Food Service Program. We will have meal pick-ups every Monday this summer starting June 8 at the following locations:
Coolwell Recreation Center: 10:30 am - 11:30 am
Tanglewood MHP: 11:45 am -12:15 pm
Scott Zion Baptist Church: 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm
Amherst Middle School (back parking lot): 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Parents/Guardians can pick up 7 days worth of meals (Breakfast and Lunch) every Monday. Children do not have to be present. All kids age 18 and younger are eligible.
Help us spread the word so every child in our community has access to nutritious meals while school is out! ❤️

A year in review at AEC reminds us just how much growth, joy, and connection can happen in 9 short months. It has been a year full of learning, memorable field trips, creative art classes, and special events like our Thanksgiving dinner, our very first tradition of Brag Day, and of course—Graduation.

Every one of these moments was made possible because of the our incredible community, dedicated AEC team, supportive families, and resilient students. Together, we created experiences that shaped not only the school year, but the hearts of everyone involved.

Here’s to a year we’ll never forget, and to the many more traditions and milestones still ahead.
