π· Boone County Weather Cams Are Back β For a Limited Time! βοΈπ§οΈ
Link below
Weβre excited to let everyone know that the Boone County weather cameras are back online ahead of the upcoming forecast.
These cameras were originally made available during snow events to help give the public a real-time look at current conditions. At this time, the only cameras the County is able to share are the two located outside of the Boone County Courthouse.
We do want to clarify an important point:
These cameras are primarily installed and used for daily Courthouse security operations. During normal business hours, they must remain dedicated to security functions. However, during evenings, weekends, and other Courthouse closures, weβre able to temporarily make the live feeds available to the public during significant weather events.
Because of this, the cameras will not be available for public viewing at all times and will be taken offline again once this weather event passes.
Weβve heard your feedback loud and clear β many of you would like to see permanent, full-time public weather cameras here and in other areas around the county. We understand the value they provide and are exploring what it would take to make that a reality in the future. As with any project of this type, it would require additional funding for equipment, installation sites, utilities, connectivity, and ongoing maintenance.
For now, weβre glad to be able to provide this temporary access to help keep everyone informed during this weather event. Please continue to use caution and stay safe.
