Ready to support!

On Wednesday and Thursday, the State Emergency Operations Center was elevated during the severe storms. Our staff, along with other state agencies and the National Weather Service, were monitoring conditions across the state and ready to provide support if any resource requests came in.

Earlier this week, members of the All-Hazards Incident Management Team were recognized for their work during the August 2025 storms and flooding.πŸ’ͺ

They helped coordinated initial damage assessment teams and compiled data in Milwaukee County. Their work helped Wisconsin secure FEMA's Individual Assistance program.

Two weeks ago, members of Wisconsin Task Force 1 (WI-TF1) were in Columbia County to assist with door-to-door canvassing in a flooded community. 🏘️

Members of the swift water rescue team assisted the county by going into areas that could not be reached due to roads being underwater.

The team checked on people still in their homes and helped others evacuate if they wished to leave.πŸ’ͺ

WEM and Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs staff helped promote emergency preparedness at Weather Day at American Family Field earlier today.

Kids from various schools learned about preparedness for pets, safety information during severe weather, and what to put in an emergency kit at our ReadyWisconsin booth.β›ˆοΈπŸŒͺ️

SEOC UPDATE 7: Final update on April Storms and Flooding.

The Wisconsin State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) moved to Level 3 operations today. It was elevated to Level 2, the second highest elevation level, on April 14 due to severe storms and flooding that occurred across the state.

During Level 2 operations, the SEOC received 53 resource requests, a majority of those were to support sandbagging efforts in various counties.

The SEOC will remain in contact with county and tribal emergency managers across the state as they focus on recovery efforts.β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή

SEOC UPDATE #6

Currently, the SEOC has received 51 resource requests since April 14. A majority of requests were to support sandbagging efforts in various counties. Other requests included GIS and personnel to assist with damage assessments.

The SEOC urges everyone impacted by this disaster to continue receiving updates from local officials and utilize 2-1-1 Wisconsin to report damage or connect with resources or referrals for service to assist with cleanup or recovery.
