SPECIAL ELECTION: 4/21/26 FOR ALL VIRGINIA LOCALITIES
April 21, 2026
During the 2026 Regular Session of the General Assembly, legislators passed and the Governor signed House Bill 1384 designating a Proposed Constitutional Amendment question to be presented to Virginia voters in an April 21, 2026, Special Election.

Here's the question voters will be deciding:

"Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia's standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?"
Check out the Department of Elections Website for more information:

The Department of Elections envisions an electoral process that is trustworthy and accountable at all levels and engages Virginia’s diverse citizenry in the most fundamental right - the right to vote.
