We also want to make residents aware of a recent federal change to the childhood vaccination schedule. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced it will scale back national recommendations for certain routine childhood vaccines, shifting more responsibility to parents and individual providers rather than maintaining unified national guidance.

In response, Connecticut Department of Public Health Commissioner Manisha Juthani, MD, issued a statement reaffirming Connecticut’s continued commitment to evidence-based vaccine guidance to protect children and our community.
