We're looking for donations of porcelain tea cups and saucers. If you have any you'd like to donate, we'll be using them for a program in the fall. Please note: The cups and saucers will not be returned and will not be accessioned as part of the museum collection.
Tea cups and saucers can be dropped off at the museum any week day, 10:00-2:00. Thank you!!

It's that time of year again! The Museum is joining forces with the students in the National History Club and while we're hosting our Annual Ice Cream Social at the museum building, they will be hosting their Car Show Fundraiser in the adjacent DSU parking lot.

Reminder! Tomorrow night (Thursday, March 26) starting at 6:00 pm at the Lake County Museum. An original photograph recreation of the 1929 Dakotah! movie with Dakota Cinema popcorn followed by an open house visit of the museum.

Join us for this week's Humanities Café: “Ghost Towns” & Memories: The “Boom and Bust” History of the Black Hills Region.

Dr. Ben Jones, SD State Historian and Director of the SD State Historical Society, and Dr. David Wolff, Professor Emeritus at Black Hills State University, historian, and author, join SDHC host Stacy Chidaushe to discuss the history and significance of the Black Hills region and some of its most forgotten locations, as well as the “boom and bust” eras that marked their existence and the important legacy their residents left behind for travelers to explore.
