This week, Airmen from across Wisconsin came together for the Junior Enlisted Opportunity Program

JEOP provides first-term Airmen with the opportunity to build relationships with fellow Airmen from across the state, explore all three Wisconsin air bases, and learn about the many career paths and missions within the Air National Guard

Experiences like these broaden perspectives, strengthen teamwork, and inspire future leaders. Congratulations to all of the Airmen selected to participate in this year's program!

This past week U.S. Air Force Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technicians from seven states came together at Volk Field ANGB for the 14th annual Audacious Warrior exercise.

Hosted by the 115th Fighter Wing, the five-day training challenged EOD Airmen with realistic, up-to-date response scenarios involving drones, guided missiles, tripwires, and improvised explosive devices—helping ensure they're prepared for the threats they may face in the field.

Find out more about how Audacious Warrior ensures our Airmen are mission ready.

Has it really been that long?

Truax Field was activated in June 1942 as a U.S. Army Air Corps base during World War II. In 1968, the base was fully transferred to the Wisconsin Air National Guard.

Named in honor of Wisconsin native Lt. Thomas L. Truax, Truax Field has proudly served as the home of what is now the 115th Fighter Wing.

More than 80 years after its initial activation, the mission continues: training, serving, and defending our nation while building on the legacy of those who came before us.

Safety first! 🛠️🚨

115th Fighter Wing first responders and civil engineers partnered to conduct a confined space rescue safety inspection.

Confined space rescues are high-risk operations due to limited access and potentially hazardous atmospheres. This annual training ensures responders are prepared to safely perform rescues while testing oxygen levels and gas-monitoring equipment to protect both rescuers and those in need.
